Dubai is a uniquely height-obsessed city. Need evidence? The Burj Khalifa, that glimmering needle that is now the world’s tallest building. But apart from the Burj, there are plenty of ways to enjoy Dubai’s desert surroundings and waterfront vistas from up high. We’ve found seven of the city’s loftiest restaurants, where you can sup on some of Dubai’s finest fare with a side order of gorgeous views.

At.mosphere

Speaking of the Burj Khalifa: those with a daredevil side will want to visit At.mosphere. Situated on the 122nd floor of the building, and recently honored with the Guinness World Record for world’s highest restaurant, At.mosphere offers views that are practically stratospheric. If you can pull your gaze away from the windows for a moment, though, you’ll be greeted with a menu of classically elegant fare, from Wagyu beef tartare and carpaccio to lobster tail with orange-scented fragola, fennel, and bouillabaisse.

At.mosphere is a fitting name for this restaurant on the 122nd floor of the world’s tallest building.

Al Muntaha

Almost as iconic as the Burj Khalifa is the Burj Al Arab, the sail-shaped structure that occupies its own tiny island in the Persian Gulf. Located within the building’s luxurious Jumeirah Hotel, Al Muntaha, which translates to “The Ultimate,” offers an expectedly lavish menu of gourmet delicacies. Those looking to indulge can select from the Burj Al Arab Private Label Caviar menu, while other seafood specialties include lobster and sweetbread ravioli and Atlantic cod with miso.

Al Muntaha offers the type of dining experience one would expect from the world’s only 7-star hotel.

Prime 68

Though many say steak is one of those dishes that’s perfect on its own, we’d have to disagree: it goes best with a jaw-dropping view. Luckily for diners, Prime 68 in the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel offers both. Poised on the 68th floor of the world’s tallest hotel, the boutique steakhouse serves only the finest heritage beef, from Wagyu to Argentine ‘Aberdeen’ Angus.

Al Dawaar

Al Dawaar in the Hyatt Regency Dubai boasts a unique distinction: it is the city’s only rotating restaurant, which means that diners have a 360-degree view of Dubai’s striking cityscape. That alone would be enough of a draw, but Al Dawaar is also a destination for its international fare, from sushi to French-inspired plates.

Just because it’s revolving doesn’t mean it’s cheesy, in fact, it’s actually pretty amazing.

Kitchen 45 at Embassy

Nestled within Embassy Dubai, an upscale late-night supper club in the Grosvenor House Dubai, Kitchen 45 is located at the top of Tower Two of the complex. In addition to the club’s plush couches, neon-lit dance floors, and glass walled wine cellars, the dining room offers jaw-dropping panoramas and distinguished European staples (don’t miss the Eton mess at dessert).

It’s not always easy to get a table at Kitchen 45, but it’s worth the effort.

La Parrilla

The Jumeirah Beach Hotel, a striking wave-shaped building that abuts the coastline, is home to La Parrilla. The city’s top spot for South American fare, La Parrilla serves succulent empanadas, fried soft-shell crab and superior steaks. Combine its menu with live tango performances and sweeping views, and it’s easy to see why the restaurant is almost always fully booked.

The Observatory

The 52nd floor Observatory in the Marriott Harbour Hotel offers one of the prettiest perspectives on Dubai’s waterfront. Its plush leather booths, sleek dining room and menu of largely carnivorous fare (the duck breast with butternut squash and orange jus is a particular favorite) ensures guests are very well looked after.
